Job Details

  • Position: Nutrition Program Officer

  • Reports To: Senior Program Officer – Nutrition and Food Assistance

 

Program Overview

The Nutrition Program Officer will support a 24-month intervention aligned with the Borno State Government’s development frameworks (2020–2030). The role focuses on tackling malnutrition through both preventive and treatment-based approaches.

 

Key program components include:

  • Strengthening Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM)
  • Managing Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM)
  • Supporting supplementary feeding programs such as Tom Brown
  • Collaborating with health partners to maintain Stabilization Centers

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support planning, monitoring, and evaluation of nutrition programs
  • Provide technical guidance to field teams and partners
  • Ensure accurate data collection and reporting
  • Engage communities to promote nutrition awareness
  • Identify program gaps and recommend improvements

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, or related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in nutrition or humanitarian programs
  • Strong knowledge of CMAM, SAM, and MAM interventions
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in high-risk and rural areas
  • Fluency in English (local language is an added advantage)
