FG Launches GVG 2026 Grant for Vulnerable Nigerians Across 774 LGAs
The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially introduced the Grant for Vulnerable Groups (GVG) programme aimed at supporting vulnerable citizens with financial assistance and empowerment opportunities across the country.
The initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to reduce poverty, improve livelihoods, and promote inclusive social protection for disadvantaged groups nationwide. According to available information, the programme is expected to reach more than 8 million beneficiaries across the 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Nigeria.
The GVG programme is specifically designed to support individuals facing economic and social challenges, including persons living with disabilities, elderly citizens, and Nigerians already enrolled in the National Social Register (NSR).
Eligible Categories for the GVG Programme
Applicants who fall under the following categories are encouraged to apply:
- Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs)
- Senior Citizens and Elderly Persons
- Individuals captured under the National Social Register (NSR)
The Federal Government stated that the programme is intended to improve financial inclusion and provide relief to vulnerable households struggling with economic hardship.
